A Day in Nis, Serbia

At 21, Rama was a wild man. Angry, abusive and drinking heavily, he had no desire or knowledge of God. He did however admire the life of his neighbor Vladica, who seemed at peace. Vladica faithfully invited Rama to visit Lescovac Evangelical Church. Their relationship and the church family eventually led Rama and his wife Silvana to new life in Christ.

Yesterday, we spent the day in Verajna teaching and doing clinics at the church that Vladica now pastors. Today, we spent the day in Nis at the church that Rama now pastors. God's call on these men's lives is remarkable and inspiring.

The church in Nis, the poorest Roma community in southern Serbia, is led by Rama and Silvana who work tirelessly to make disciples in this community. Our seminars were warmly received by these humble, loving people.

A powerful moment in the day came when Dr. Chelsea made an impassioned plea encouraging other forms of birth control that prevent unwanted pregnancy rather than ending the life of a growing, living, fetus. She shared verses of God's heart for life and His love and forgiveness.
Even more amazing was the opportunity she had to speak to the husbands, explaining the same view.

Thank you once again, for your prayers and support for this trip. God is doing some amazing things.

In Him, Margaret for the team.
